An international conference: "Investing in Nutrition for Development"


The Congress 2011 theme was "Investing in Nutrition for Development"
Early life nutrition and its relationship to lifelong health and development; the critical importance taking into accounts the rapid Increase in the incidence of obesity and chronic diseases in the MENA region.

 

 

This is an opportunity for a wide audience to share the latest information on nutritional status in early life in the region:
• Provide a summary of the available research on the subject
• discuss sustainable strategies for the prevention of chronic diseases through the promotion of nutrition in early life.


All these concerns are shared by many international experts in the field and nutritionists.
What is the position of MENA compared to changing international trends?
Here are summarized the main ideas that Congress wants to power.

 

 

Welcome message

The Moroccan Society on Nutrition is pleased to invite you to the first North Africa and Middle East (MENA) conference on:” Investing in Nutrition for development”, which will take place in Marrakech, Morocco from the 21st  to the 23d October 2011.

The meeting will highlight the importance of early life nutrition and its relationship to lifelong health and development. This is of critical importance taking into account the rapid increase in the incidence of obesity and chronic diseases in the MENA region.

It will be an opportunity for a wide audience to share the latest information on nutritional situation during early life in the region, to provide a synthesis of the available research on the topic and to discuss sustainable strategies for preventing chronic diseases by promoting nutrition in the beginning of life.

Poster sessions will address a broad spectrum of topics to provide forums for all avenues of ongoing work in the area of early life nutrition.

International experts in the field as well as nutritionists, public health professionals and policy makers from the region will be invited to participate in the meeting.

We welcome you to Marrakech, the red imperial city, "The pearl of the South" at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Marrakech is a symbol of a reach history of Morocco. Its ambiance, colors and its climate will enchant you!
